I realize it has been awhile since I have written anything so I figured I’d give you all some food for thought since Thanksgiving is around the corner. I have so much to be thankful for this year, from the only minor inconvenience I felt from Sandy’s wrath, ( I only lost power for 12 hours) to my ability to open my house during that crisis for friends to stay, shower and do laundry during the ensuing weeks after. I truly felt blessed for the ability for my family to see how just small acts of kindness can have a big impact. Even my kids got in the spirit, donating their books clothes and even some toys to help others. It truly brought us closer together as a family.
While I am thankful I also have a small issue I need to get off my chest. Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday, where we stop during our busy lives to be with friends and family and look around at all we have. It is a time to check our attitude and get some gratitude. I feel as a holiday is highly underrated being pushed out by the highly commercialized version of Christmas, which seems to get into the stores earlier and earlier. I for one believe that decorations and commercials should start after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I know it’s retails busiest time of year but to start decorating in October steals some of the magic of the season for me. I refuse to decorate before my turkey dinner. Now come black Friday, all bets are off. Instead of shopping to I drop, I’ll be decking my office halls.
Since I’ll be in the office from 10:00am till noon I’m offering my own Black Friday special. Save $15.00 on a one hour gift certificate and 7.50 on a 30 minute gift certificate. This is the lowest price that will be offered this year and only available from 10-12 so come on down and make your gift giving stress free. Enjoy your turkey!
